Full-Featured
ComboGB is your best choice for a full-featured drive. It offers maximum connectivity, performance and ruggedness, all in a size that fits easily in your pocket. And because it comes with all the cables you’ll need to plug in to nearly any computer, ComboGB is one of the most versatile portable drives on the market.

Maximum connectivity
ComboGB provides native ports for three connection types: FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and USB2. As a result, you can connect it to any computer running any recent operating system. It’s easy and painless.

To make sure you can connect in any situation, a total of five different cables and adapters are included.

ComboGB is bootable in FireWire mode on any Mac or PC that supports this feature.

Maximum performance
And it’s fast! Configure ComboGB with a 7200 RPM drive and there is no performance difference between ComboGB and our other 7200 RPM drive enclosures.

Attractive and durable
ComboGB also features an attractive case – a perfect balance of aluminum and synthetic materials. The textured finish makes for a sturdy enclosure that’s easy to hold or pick up, while the brushed and embossed aluminum inset panel looks great.

Plug and play
ComboGB works out of the box with no new drivers needed with any modern operating system including Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, OS X and Windows 2K, XP, as well as any distribution of Linux that supports FireWire or USB. If using FireWire, additional FireWire devices can be daisy-chained through ComboGB.

AC adapter optional
Most FireWire and USB ports provide enough juice to power ComboGB, so most users prefer to use ComboGB without an AC adapter for maximum portability. For users who prefer an AC adapter or who must use one with their computer, an AC adapter is available separately.

You will need an AC adapter (or use the included USB power cable) if the port you are plugging into does not provide enough power for ComboGB. This includes all 4 pin FireWire hosts (such as Sony iLink which provides no power at all) and some USB ports.

In most situations, the provided USB power cable can power the drive and pass data at the same time. Alternately, the USB power cable can be used for power only so you may use the USB cable for power and still use a FireWire cable for data.
